ALESSANDRA SALVATI
composer
Balla
“Balla” is a short and wild composition for piano solo.
“Balla” in Italian language means “she dances.” It also means “story,” “lie.”
“Balla” is the name of the famous Futurist painter Giacomo Balla, whose primary objective was the pictorial representation of light, movement and speed, as symbolic of his faith in the dynamic forward thrust of the twentieth century. This score tends to promote dynamic and eclectic aspects of contemporary piano music, with irony and freedom.
